A rare Georgian brass charcoal brazier, dating from around 1770 and standing 23"high. This was used in wealthy households for keeping kettles of water warm for tea/coffee. A really rare piece and similar examples with kettles are illustrated in Pinto's book of Domestic brass. All the examples in that book are in museums.
